I first learned about MJ Prep from a dear friend that just raved over how well they prepared their son for the ACT. I initially purchased 4 — 2 hour sessions to test the waters but then punched another 4 (so 8 total) after we knew this would be a good fit for my girl. My daughter is a good student but struggles with standardized testing. She was skeptical that the tutoring would really make a difference and she was a little nervous about connecting well with the tutor. Donovan Kelly was her instructor and I cannot say enough about him. Mr. Kelly came once a week initially then we moved to every other week as my daughter's finals came around. He was prompt, thorough, and did not waste any time once he arrived. He was constantly praising her for her efforts and any progress she had made on the homework assignments. He was extremely flexible with our crazy schedule as well. He immediately identified areas she needed the most help with and helped her to feel more confident about taking the test. My daughter increased her composite score by 6 points. She took the ACT twice while tutoring with MJ Prep. This program and Donovan Kelly is worth every penny. I highly recommend.

Michael's expertise in really teaching these kids how to take the ACT, SAT tests is truly a unique experience. After a diagnostic test of your student's abilities, he can pretty easily assess how many sessions you will need to attain your desired score. From preliminary diagnostic to final test score, my son raised his ACT by 7 points! Simply because he was taught HOW to take the test and how they are written. Michael will meet with your student at your home or whatever location you choose and the working sessions are enjoyable for the kids. Michael has a great way of connecting with kids and making them feel like they can achieve anything. Scheduling is easy — you can do it online and it's easy to make changes if you have a conflict. The end of this story is even more amazing — my son is now headed to Yale, Columbia University, Harvard and Brown for college visits. Michael's work speaks for itself. My only worry is that I have recommended him to so many people, I may not be able to schedule him for my other child!

Top notch, quality tutors at MJ Prep! Our teen took the ACT in October. Then completed 4 SAT prep sessions and 2 ACT prep sessions with Peter Unterstein. He performed well on his first SAT effort in January and improved his ACT by 5 points in February! This progress elevated him to the second tier of merit scholarships at his college of choice. We purchased 8 sessions and will complete the two remaining over the summer for one more go at the ACT to hopefully get two more ACT points (and some additional scholarship money). Love that the tutors come to you and we were able to coordinate 2 hour in-home sessions despite very busy academic and athletic schedules — sessions before school, after school, and weekends. Peter was very engaging, adapting to our son's learning style and took the time to understand what motivates him as a person. The work required between sessions was very reasonable for an already busy time of year. The pre in-home assessment completed by Michael yielded invaluable information to help us as parents understand the process and equipped us to make informed decisions moving forward. I highly recommend Michael Jordan College Prep. Our initial meeting with Michael was very encouraging and we felt like he really listened to our son's needs and interests. Megan was the tutor who worked with our son for 8 sessions and helped him increase his composite score by 7 points. She was phenomenal in the ways she engaged and encouraged him and he really put to use all she taught him.

When we met with Michael for the free consultation, he spoke with my daughter about her learning preferences to determine which tutor would be a good match. He also answered many questions I had about the college search and gave us some great tips when looking at colleges. Rachana, our tutor, was indeed a good match for my daughter. She was always prompt, listened to our goals and answered all questions we had. Michael was also quick to follow up along the way. With 4 sessions, my daughter improved her ACT score from the assessment test by 5 points. With 2 follow up sessions she increased her score another 4 points. She exceeded the goal score we had in mind. We are now looking forward to College App camp in June!

We contacted MJ Prep to help our son bring his ACT score up. They were quick to get a phone call set up to go over our needs and goals. They were a little delayed in getting us the practice assessment — we just had to check in and then we got it. Once they identified what needs would be best for our son, they got us connected with one of their tutors, Jenna. She was so easy to coordinate with and super flexible when we needed to change appointments. Our son has already taken the ACT through school but after 6 one-hour sessions he was able to bring his score up by 6 points. Super pleased with the experience and work. Jenna was fabulous!
